I started a subreddit where former special ed students can share their stories and experiences with the special ed system, criticize the system, and suggest how to change or improve the system without parents and teachers interjecting their opinion. Teachers and parents of IEP students, however, may use the forum to consult former special ed students for advice. People who want to reform special ed or the IDEA should consult former special ed students, because it's us and our futures that are affected by this system. People, however do not consult former special ed students when reforming the system, and when we do give our opinion, parents and guardians interject their opinion how the special ed system and do not let us assert our issues.
